M›PHOSIS Muse Winter 2015

Here is what we’ve been up to……

June was a very exciting and productive month for the M>PHOSIS Team.  We created ‘edible hair’ for the Hastings Pak n Save Edible Fashion Awards and competed in the Hawke’s Bay Regional Hairdressing Competitions.

We were delighted to once again be involved with the Hastings Pak n Save Edible Fashion Awards, not only as a sponsor  but with the ‘M>PHOSIS Hair Show’ segment.  Our team embraced this year’s theme of using food and food packaging and created some fantastic styles, which demonstrated our creativity and offered the challenge of working with different materials.  Liquorice, lollies, egg cartons and empty drink bottles replaced our usual hair pieces as we recreated looks to celebrate the ‘Legends of the Silver Screen’ Check out our M>PHOSIS Facebook Page or on our website www.mphosis.co.nz for photos from the night.

In June we also competed in the Hawke’s Bay Regional Hairdressing Competitions.  Many months of preparation, training & practising were celebrated with great success on the day –

  • Dave won all three of the Next Generation Events - The Cut, The Colour & The Style
  • Amanda’s two entries in The Colour Senior section placed first and third. Continuing that success in The Cut Senior category coming second
  • Tash won The Style Senior

These excellent results mean that three M>PHOSIS team members will represent Hawke’s Bay at the National Supreme Hairdressing Awards in Auckland in early October.  Big congratulations to Tash, Amanda & Dave.  As members of the HB Supreme Team they’ll represent our province in five of the six events.   It’s also important to acknowledge the support, encouragement & genuine team work from the rest of the M>PHOSIS crew.  It’s their efforts too, that will make our Auckland dreams a reality.

Over the coming months your Supreme Team will be fundraising so they can compete.  With each event costing $1,000 to enter they’re hoping to raise $5,000. When you’re in the salon next, please ask about our latest raffle – with many great prizes up for grabs.

We also have a Fashion and Auction Evening on Friday 14th August at Vidal Winery.  It’ll be a fun night where you’ll be treated & find out  - What’s hot & trending, What to wear (or not to wear) & ‘How your bra should fit’  They’ll also be an auction with a wide variety of items up for grabs – from accommodation to crafts.   Tickets are just $25.

Also, watch out for our upcoming Quiz night in early September.  We’ll let you know as soon as the date and venue are confirmed.
